Cynthia Rowley is not afraid to be a little left-of-center when it comes to her fashion shows. What works for her is that in a world of neutrals and playing it safe, her show will always stand out a bit. The way she mixed it up this time was with hundreds and hundreds of cabochons forming patterns around the garments. Dresses, shorts, and tops all had various cabochon patterns in different colors. These details tied back nicely to the enamel barrettes in the hair and enamel necklaces. It gave the whole collection a Candyland sort of feeling, very youthful and fresh.
Lightweight skirts and dresses featured circular perforations in various shapes throughout. Some were placed in the center chest of a dress, others might be layered through the tiers of a chiffon skirt. Layered with these garments were lightweight see-through sweaters in solids and stripes.
Overall the collection was light-hearted and playful, which is what spring should feel like.
