The Village Voice's Seventh Annual "Choice Eats" Tasting Event

The Village Voice's Seventh Annual "Choice Eats" Tasting Event on Tuesday, March 25th will feature 84 participating restaurants at Basketball City at Pier 36. 

Participating restaurants include 606 R&D, Alobar, Ample Hills Creamery, Anella, Bear, Beecher's Handmade Cheese, Bhatti Indian Grill, Bien Cuit, Black Tree, Bobwhite Lunch and Supper Counter, Brooklyn Kolache Co., Buka, Bunker, Butter & Scotch, Carlo's Bakery, Chandni, Charles' Country Pan Fried Chicken, Coppelia, Devi, Dirt Candy, Doughnut Plant, Edi and the Wolf, Egg, El Almacen, Fay Da Bakery, Fletcher's Brooklyn Barbecue, Fonda, Grandaisy Bakery, Indian Clove, Jimmy's No. 43, John Brown Smokehouse, Jones Wood Foundry, Juliette Restaurant, Kaia Wine Bar, Khe Yo, Kuma Inn, La Newyorkina, Larb Ubol, Liddabit Sweets, Little Prince, Littleneck, Louro, Luke's Lobster, Mables Smokehouse, Maima's Liberian Bistro, Martha, Max, Mexico Lindo, Mooncake Foods, Mrs. Dorsey's Kitchen, No. 7, Oda House, OddFellows Ice Cream Co., Ovelia Psistaria, Ovenly, Peppa's Jerk Chicken, Pete Zaaz, Queens Comfort, Red Hook Lobster Pound, Robicelli's, Rosamunde Sausage Grill, Rubirosa, SCRATCHbread, Sheep Station, Spicy Bampa, Swine, Tabata Noodle Restaurant, Telepan Local, The Kati Roll Company, The Meatball Shop, The Pines, Thistle Hill Tavern, Xe May Sandwich Shop, Yunnan Kitchen and Zenon Taverna. 

Restaurants recently added to the lineup include Banana Leaf, Deccan Spice, Distilled, Jacob's Pickles, La Slowteria, Mai Sushi, Morgan's Brooklyn Barbecue and Pickle Shack.

The Village Voice is also excited to confirm its first two food demos as part of this year's event. Andres Fernandez, Executive Chef of Morgan's Brooklyn Barbecue, the new buzzy BBQ joint with Texas roots already featured by The New York Times, New York Magazine's GrubStreet, and of course, the Village Voice's own Fork in the Road food blog will present a BBQ demo to all attendees. The second demo will be hosted by Allison Kave, Brooklyn-based author of First Prize Pies, a new cookbook featuring 85 recipes that will have you racing to the kitchen to whip up your own homemade pies.

In addition to 83 eats to sample and demo, guests will also get to sip the night away thanks to the "Stella Artois Beer Garden," 10 wines, vodkas, and bourbons from Southern Wines & Spirits and Blueprint Brands and 12 craft beers from Great Brewers. Guests will be given souvenir Choice Eats tasting glasses, provided by Diamond Vision.

All ticketholders will have access to this year's newest additions including the first ever Choice Eats Social Media Lounge, "Hashtag Hangout," provided by Whole Foods Market, plus they will be greeted in style with a Red Carpet Welcome, provided by the New York Health and Racquet Club.
