So I've been on hiatus since last Wednesday, taking a much needed vacation in Mexico. Although I am missing all the amazing baja fish tacos and tostadas de cevich de camarĂ³n, I get to indulge in my favorite city spots, including Magnolia Bakery.
I recently attended Magnolia Bakery's Summer Soiree, introducing new desserts into their lineup, celebrating the season's freshest fruits, including strawberries and blueberries. It was a given that I'd like the Strawberry Cupcakes, but the Blueberry Lemon Cupcakes were unexpectedly light and refreshing. The Blueberry Pie is to die for! When I got home, I practically ate a mini Blueberry Pie in one sitting! It tasted incredibly fresh and delectable. It would have been even better with whip cream or ice cream, but I basically devoured it without any add-ons.
I was so glad to finally get a chance to try Magnolia Bakery's ice cream sandwiches, made with Ronnybrook Dairy's supreme premium ice cream. Out of the Brownie, Blondie, Red Velvet Whoopie, and Lemon Bar, I was sold on the Red Velvet Whoopie.
If you love coconut, then you'll love the Coconut Cream Pie. Also, let's not forget Banana Pudding, which is still my all-time favorite at Magnolia Bakery.
