Gills Manjulakshmi Fall/Winter 2018 at New York Fashion Week

For Gills Manjulakshmi’s runway debut, introduced three themes of the collection for women and men: I love the roses red, Sun to Moon, All the things I love… and My Birds are humming your name.

The collections are inspired by a mix of all elements from nature with birds, roses, turtles sun, moon and stars. The bold and romantic collection had tints of futuristic styles, with fabrics sourced from all over the world, including leather from London, crepes from Spain, and silks from India and Italy with hand worked details.

Son Jung Wan Fall/Winter 2018 at New York Fashion Week

For Fall/Winter 2018, Son Jung Wan embraces Maximalism fashion with vivid color, deliberate destruction of traditional tailoring and experimenting with exposed seams to create 3D effects and strong structural silhouettes.

Son Jung Wan mixes vibrant yellows, brilliant greens, silver and soft blues and pinks. Fabrics include tweeds and jacquards with a combination of check & stripes patterns, and romantic floral prints with a touch of sequins.

Favorite looks in the collection include fox fur detailing, shearling outerwear embellished denim jeans.

Taoray Wang Fall/Winter 2018 at New York Fashion Week

Taoray Wang Fall/Winter 2018, entitled Enlightenment Empress is inspired by Catherine the Great, Empress of Russia. The monarch was a patron of the arts, culture, and education and became the country’s longest-ruling female leadrer during the Russian Age of Enlightenment.

Enlightment Empress combines the classic with the modern, the East and West, reinterpreting the military uniform and iconic olive-green with striking shades of red which embody the Russian spirit. The military uniform is transformed to fit the modern woman, with feminine fur epaulets detailing, and the softening of bold lines.

I love the mix of sheer lace detailing, navy pinstripes, red accents, leather belts and oversized bows for strong, yet edgy suiting.
